The WordSmith’s Workshop

For small businesses

Your copy not only tells your customers what you do, but who you are.

It sounds like corporate nonsense, but it’s true. As a small business, the individuality of your offering is key. With what feels like an endless sea of companies and products vying for your audience’s attention, it’s more important than ever to set yourself apart with unique, clear, vibrant copy that talks straight to your customers and lets them know what makes you you.

I would love to work on your web copy, blog posts, newsletters, and more if:

  • You need a final proofread because you’ve been looking at it for too long

  • You’re mostly happy, but you feel like you haven’t brought out that final sparkle

  • You’ve got your ideas down, but it just isn’t communicating what you need it to

I would love to help you squeeze every drop of goodness out of your copy, either as a one-off project or on an ongoing basis.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch to tell me more about your business and how I can help you connect with your audience better.

  • This includes:

    • Text wholly or significantly generated by AI

    • Content intended to be used alongside unlabelled AI generated images

I believe that building a responsible culture around GenAI and other innovative technology relies on transparency. Ethically, I am not comfortable working with you if you use any undisclosed AI generated content on your website.

My services

  • Proofreading is the very last layer of editing; the content should already be finalised. Proofreading catches spelling/grammatical errors, typos, and any other surface level mistakes.

  • Copyediting is polishing copy that’s nearly there, but not quite. It improves clarity, conciseness, consistency, and tone. Each change or suggestion will be fully explained with a constructive comment.

  • Line editing means going through your copy thoroughly line by line, perfecting phrasing, sentence and paragraph structure. A line edit ensures flow, consistent style, and readability. Each change or suggestion will be fully explained with a constructive comment.
